Fernhill Riding Dressage 2018
After many weeks of practice and many hours of spit and polish, today Fernhill hosted its first dressage day for clients and friends of Fernhill.
Despite the weather - torrential rain and hail at times - the sun eventually made an appearance and 11 worthy competitors gave it their all. For weeks and weeks, the 11 had bantered online - egging each other on about plaiting and jackets - and that was just the men in the group!
Turnout standards were high. The horses looked incredible and the riders not too shabby either. But most importantly of all, everyone had such fun. Big smiles were in abundance as everyone ate their celebratory cream tea at the awards ceremony.
Jane Edwards and Jodie Luxford very kindly judged the day. 'Everyone did so well' said Jodie, 'Some beautiful riding and the horses thoroughly enjoyed it too! Jane agreed, 'The horses really enjoyed themselves and it was so nice to see everyone so proud of their achievements after all of their hard work and practice'.
Such a success, a second Fernhill Riding Dressage Day is already in the diary. We look forward to seeing more riders participate next time.
With special thanks to all who entered, to the judges for giving up their day for everyone, to Billy the runner and also to the many supporters, who helped to make every rider feel very special with a big round of applause at the end.

Summer BBQ 2018
Once again an amazing afternoon was had by all at the annual Fernhill BBQ. And this year the sun shone!
Thanks to John for cooking a delicious paella, Mandy for the BBQ and to everyone else who brought salad and pudding! (Delicious rocky roads! But even more amazing butterscotch tartlets! You know you are :) )
As always a raffle for the Brook Hospital, raising a much needed £75 for a worthy cause.
Cheers and see you next year everyone!
